ATTENTION - important information
The European Commission amended Annex XVII of the REACH Regulation (EC) (new No 74) with Regulation (EU) 2020/1149, which entered into force on 24 August 2020.
Why:
To potentially prevent skin and respiratory sensitisation caused by diisocyanates.
How:
safety training is required for this. Our PU adhesives contain diisocyanates and are therefore affected by this regulation. Your employees must be trained to know how to use PU adhesives safely. Depending on the application or national legal requirement of an EU member state, online or in a face-to-face event on site. Documented proof (certificate) of participation in training is required.
Who must be trained:
All commercial and industrial processing companies of PU adhesives. Private users are not affected.
Who may train:
Trained personnel for occupational health and safety.
What does this mean for packaging?
From 24 February 2022, a training notice must appear on the container layout or product label. By 24 August 2023, users of PU adhesives must have received demonstrable training.
